Back After A Long Absence

Wow, you say. Fucking Jake's been away for a hell of a long time now. About time the dumb bastard showed up here again.

Ya, well, you'd be right. I was spending entirely too much time on Facebook and was stupidly ignoring folks over here on Google's platform who are probably much smarter than me when it comes to social networking. Mea culpa, dudes.

So, what have I been up to?

Well, I've been spending more time writing, and in fact released two new erotic horror stories earlier this month. So far, they're doing very well. Oddly enough, most of my sales seem to happen on Friday and Saturday nights, but I'm not going to make any assumptions as to why that might be.

I moved last year. The dog loves it now that we're out of an apartment and living in a real house. My girlfriend (who prefers to remain nameless here) likes that there's enough of a yard that we can throw parties. No, nothing fluffy. I'm talking real parties with beer, burgers, wieners, and a dug-in firepit to cook them on.

Right now, I'm working on building an outdoor bar shed. Saw a friend who had one and decided I wanted one, too. The yard's big enough to build one, with lots of room to spare. I'll put up pictures when it's done. :)

The house is big enough that I finally have office space to use for my writing. I no longer have to have a desk in my room to do that, or sit on the couch to do it with the potential for televised distractions. (That never ends well when I'm trying to write and the game is on.)

So, what have you all been up to? Anything interesting? I've just GOT to know!

It's Been Quiet...Too Quiet.

Yes, I've been off doing other things, writing, spending time with girlfriend, family, friends and my dog. Oh, and getting in some game time, as my Guild Master's gotten a bit pissed off at me because I've missed more than a few raids since I started writing about humans and the tentacles who impregnate (or sometimes just love) them. I haven't meant to ignore anyone.

I hope everyone is enjoying the Spring weather. I've had a chance to do some fun hiking and a bit of swimming out in the beautiful Pacific Ocean. There are only a couple beaches out here where I'm also able to take my dog along, but I'm glad that I can. It's one of the few ways to ensure maximum exhaustion so I have time to write without being constantly nosed into petting sessions.

My last release was actually a partnership of sorts with a great guy called Terry Fowler. He came to me with what I thought was a great idea and I gave him permission to use my basic idea and run with it. The result was what I guess you could call gay erotic horror. When it comes down to it, I really liked what he created. I hope you all do, too, if you like to read that particular genre. It's called Penetrated by the Tentacle.

Sounds juicy, doesn't it?

Anyhow, my peoples, I will do my level best to stay in touch on a more timely basis, but you'll have to find it in your hearts to forgive me if I take time to enjoy the season(s).

What's Forthcoming...

I'm currently working on "Emily and the Alien Tentacle" while also working on a novella, "Laurie and the Alien Tentacle". "Laurie's" taking longer than I anticipated, but that's because it's more involved.

"Emily" should be out for you by the middle of this next week. It's a departure from where the stories have gone previously, but it opens doors for other possibilities in the structure of the stories.

Don't worry -- there'll still be plenty of hot tentacle action and horrific endings to things. I wouldn't dream of taking that away from you.

Anyhow, off to take care of myself and try to get better.

Health Update...Bleh

Damned cold has settled into my head. Sore ears, throat, lots of phlegm...

 

I don't get sick very often but when I do, it really makes an appearance. BAH!

 

I've never made a very good patient at all. I've always been more along the lines of an impatient, really. I want it all over with, and I want it all over with now. Sadly, it rarely listens to what I want and only does what it wants.

 

I'm hoping that with plenty of fluids, and not overdoing things, I can get better soon. This doesn't mean I won't be writing, because you can bet your ass I'll be doing that, but I'm not going to push myself the way I normally do.

 

If you have any suggestions on what I might to do beat this shit, please post them in the comments. If they're not too off-the-wall, I'll give them a try.

Forthcoming Compendium...

I have decided that once I publish the fourth story in the "...and the Alien Tentacle" series, that I will also package up all four and offer them as a single unit.

It makes more sense to me to do things that way.

I'll keep you posted on further developments.

Finding Venues...

I've been looking for places in which to let folks know about the stories I've written, but all I seem to find out there are the adult sites that deal more in video than literary offerings.

If anyone has any suggestions for appropriate social networking opportunities/sites, I'd love to hear from you!
